Construction on the new ALT Hotel at Toronto Pearson International Airport is now underway. This new ALT Hotel, one of Groupe Germain Hospitality's two banners, will be the first built outside Quebec. It is expected that the ALT Hotel Toronto Pearson at will open its doors in spring 2012.
"This new ALT Hotel is good news for our many guests from Quebec and elsewhere who can now take advantage of their favourite hotel in a place they regularly visit," said Christiane Germain, co-president and CEO of Groupe Germain Hospitality. "Like other ALT Hotels, ALT Hotel Toronto Pearson's "no frills chic" style, inspired by trends in Europe and Asia, sets it apart. Occupying a prime location adjacent to the airport terminals at the end of the LINK train line, the 149 room hotel will allow guests easy access to accommodations at the airport, one of the busiest in North America in terms of passenger volume."
"We are delighted to welcome this new hotel to Pearson International, and we are working closely with Groupe Germain Hospitality in its development," said Lloyd McCoomb, President and CEO for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). "Business and leisure guests who visit Toronto have a real need for this type of hotel, one which offers quality accommodations at a reasonable price."
With more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, ALT Hotel Toronto Pearson will have 13 floors of comfortable rooms whose layout will be typical of the distinctive style found in ALT Hotels, one that combines chic design without superfluous details in a very modern and functional setting. Guests will have access to a gym and can relax at the café or the reading areas in the lobby.
The concept used for the ALT banner allows for rapid erection of the building as does its method of construction based on "prefabricated rooms".
