Grab your crampons!
In Québec’s Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie provincial park, the views of the rivers, waterfalls, and iced-over cliff walls of the “Ice Valley” will make you tremble with awe. Explore the area on skis, snowshoes, or fatbikes. Check out the Pomme d’Or rock face for mind-blowing ice climbing.
Gin master
Mixing up hand-crafting know-how and a contem-porary approach, the Menaud microbrewery and distillery is reinventing liquors and beer by harvesting the raw ingredients right in Charlevoix. We love their gin with hints of balsam poplar and wild verbena.
Sparkling good
We love the effervescent universe of the Pedneault family, which you’ll discover at the Boutique de la Cidrerie at the Pedneault orchard in Baie-Saint-Paul. Besides jams and jellies made with apples, pears, and plums, you’ll get to taste ice cider and other heavenly nectars. We can’t get enough!
Have a drink
For the past 21 years, Frédéric and Caroline have been brewing up ideas and beer… lots of beer! At the Saint-Pub run by the MicroBrasserie Charlevoix microbrewery, you’ll find 16 tap lines, each connected to a different hand-crafted beer. Feeling like a Flacatoune? You can’t go wrong when you pair it with the house special—smoked chicken.
The great gamble
The Casino de Charlevoix is celebrating 25 years. Could that mean it’s a lucky year? Why not stop by (fingers crossed!) after a day of skiing at Mont Grand-Fonds? Or take the shuttle from Baie-Saint-Paul to La Malbaie to get here.
