GROUP GERMAIN HOTELS UNVEILS A SECOND PROPERTY IN OTTAWA
The Canadian hospitality company Group Germain Hotels announced today the opening of its 16th property in the country: Le Germain Hotel Ottawa. Following in the footsteps of Alt Hotel Ottawa which opened its doors in 2016, the group’s second property in the nation's capital diversifies the hotel offering in the city centre.
The result of a 40-million dollar investment, Le Germain Hotel Ottawa is integrated into a state-of-the-art, mixed-use building that is part of the Ottawa Art Gallery Expansion and Arts Court Redevelopment. The complex also includes the ArtHaus private residences and is ideally located at the corner of Daly Avenue and Waller Street, within walking distance of the ByWard Market, the Rideau Canal, the Parliament of Canada, the Convention Centre and many other attractions and amenities in the city centre.
"The wealth of Ottawa’s distinct tourism offer and the number of visitors to the city make it a prime location for our new Le Germain Hotel," said Christiane Germain, co-president and co-founder of Group Germain Hotels. "We are pleased to now offer our two banners to business and leisure travellers in the nation's capital."
A refined design & service
Designed by Canadian firm LEMAYMICHAUD Architecture & Design, Le Germain Hotel Ottawa is the result of a meticulous, indeed artistic concept. The 115 rooms and suites are bathed in natural light and offer a design that blends refinement, comfort and convenience. Each of the 8 suites offers not only a king size bed, a dining room, a living room, a powder room, a reading area and a panoramic view of the city centre, but also the possibility to form a trio of private rooms by connecting to the two adjacent rooms. This option is certain to meet the unique requirements of Ottawa which welcomes various delegations throughout the year. Works of art created exclusively for the hotel by Canadian artists complete the look of the property.
The hotel has five meeting rooms, totalling nearly 2,500 square feet. These bright rooms are perfect for a multitude of meetings, special events and celebrations, and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Norca Restaurant & Bar
Nestled in the hotel, Norca is synonym of Northern cuisine, Canadian ingredients. By choosing to cook with fruits, vegetables and proteins that are exclusively Canadian, Chef Dominique Dufour and her team pay tribute to our soil, our origins and our seasons. Lovers of classic cocktails, wine and local beers will be delighted and able to enjoy unique products at the bar or in the lounge area. Thanks to its menu and enveloping ambiance, Norca will certainly become a must for locals and visitors alike.
Collaboration with romeo’s gin
Driven by a shared passion for art and the art of living, Le Germain Hotel Ottawa and the Quebec brand romeo's are introducing a limited edition bottle of gin created exclusively for the hotel. The result of a collaboration between Montreal artist Julie Couture and Ottawa artist Ryan Smeeton, the bottle is adorned with a work of art that pays tribute to the nation's capital. During their visit to Norca or any Le Germain Hotel in Canada, guests will have the opportunity to sip "Juliet with romeo's", the signature cocktail created as part of this collaboration.
