Christiane Germain's love affair with Calgary

Calgary is a city that I really like, that always amazes me. Whenever I go there, I come back pleasantly surprised.

The city has evolved a lot in the last few years. The East Village neighborhood is now vibrant, dynamic and bubbling. Take a walk for a few minutes and you will completely fall under its spell.

Calgary's beautiful new library is a work of art in itself. This bright, curvaceous building is a jewel of architecture.

Also, the city is full of incredible art galleries and its gastronomic scene is effervescent.

Calgary is also the perfect place to drop off your luggage at the hotel and get out of the city to get some fresh air. I'm a mountain maniac, so I love the fact that the Rockies are not far away and I can get there easily.

My go-to place is Canmore. In addition to beautiful hikes, there are good restaurants to be found. In Banff, you must visit the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. In summer, I like to go to the Sunshine Village Ski Resort for hiking. The landscape is beautiful; everything is covered with wild flowers.

We have prejudices about Calgary, but I think it is now time to drop them and visit this city.
